I last met up with the extended Constance family in 2011, so it was awesome to see them all again for their big family photoshoot. We went to the same location this time too! Walter Sisulu gardens was an obvious choice when I heard that Marisa’s mom was now in a wheelchair. I knew that the botanical gardens pathways would be the most accessible option for her.
The park was exceptionally full with picnickers taking full advantage of the warm winters day. We did need to work around that, but I’m so glad that we used parts of the park that we hadn’t gone close to the last time we met up. So, as a result their photos are quite different to the first photoshoot we did.
We started with portraits of the grandchildren.
Then we found this magic spot, where we started the big family photos. The yellow daisies in the background were so perfect for their winter wardrobe colour choices!
The bridge in the park is always a firm favourite for teen photos, and worked perfectly for the sibling sets.
If we had gone a month later, this forest area would be carpeted with the bright orange clivias. I’m going to have to make a plan to get there in a few weeks!
And then we finally found a bench with enough open space for the big family shot! What you can’t see is how carefully everyone is sitting because we realised pretty quickly how rickety the bench actually was. LOL! It was a proper balancing act.
I’m so glad I got the family to walk all the way to the falls. I rarely go there on photoshoots, but it really was the perfect spot to end the shoot.
