This afternoon was so much fun! Rene asked me a while ago to do a family shoot in the CBD, and today was the day.
Rene is the manager at the Run Walk for Life branch that I run at, and I’ve known her family for quite a number of years now. It was so much fun to take photos of them today.
She wanted photos mostly of the kids. She’d seen photos on my website taken in front of the massive brass door and wanted the same kind of thing. So, we combined the old gorgeous buildings in the Joburg CBD with the stunning colourful graffiti in Newtown.
Old banking district photos
This setting just shouts Johannesburg to me. An old building that hasn’t been fixed up yet and the ever present taxis! I’m so glad they went along with my suggestion and walked across this road… it’s magic!
Newtown graffiti walls
Then we drove to Newtown to the graffiti walls. I love that there’s some new art around again! I never quite know what I’m going to find down that street. I love that it gets refreshed ever so often.
I really had a great time this afternoon!
