Claire contacted me a few weeks ago to take photos of their extended family. It was a 50th wedding anniversary family photoshoot!
Now how special is that?
We met at Delta Park on Sunday afternoon. Thankfully the weather had cleared up after the chilly and cloudy start to the day… but I must say it was pretty hot and humid walking around the park.
I had wanted to start the shoot at my favourite staircase, but there were rows of cars blocking it so we headed for the trees. I’m so glad we did, because it was absolutely gorgeous there!
Delta Park is magic actually. I love how it changes every few weeks so it keeps me on my toes. I’m never 100% sure what I’m going to be getting when I choose the location.
The littlest in the family, 8 month old Emily was so damn cute! I loved her little cheeks and eventually right at the very end of the shoot we got her to smile.
I did have a giggle when I asked the kids for a group photo and they had to hold Emily… Emily was far more interested in grabbing the girls long hair than she was in what I was trying to do.
As we were walking away from the small forest down the hill towards the cars, I noticed the way they were holding hands. Of course I had to stop the whole family and get them out the way to capture that moment 😉
50 years of marriage is just amazing! I’m so privileged to have been able to take photos of this special occasion.
